Etsy Listing Photo Dimensions & Crop Validator

What This Tool Does

The Etsy Listing Photo Checker inspects your image dimensions, aspect ratio, and file size to ensure crisp display across desktop and mobile screens. It checks for Etsy official 4:3 aspect ratio recommendation to prevent awkward thumbnail cropping.

How to Use It

1. Drop your product image or mockup into the checker.
2. Check instant dimension analysis (width x height, aspect ratio, and file size).
3. Verify that your shortest edge meets Etsy 2000px high-resolution zoom standard.
4. Inspect the 4:3 thumbnail safety grid to ensure no product details get cut off in search results.

Worked Example: Auditing an Etsy Primary Photo

You upload a product photo taken on your smartphone or exported from design software.

The photo passes all Etsy quality checks and will display sharp full-screen zoom with zero edge cropping.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Using square 1:1 photos (e.g. 2000x2000), causing Etsy 4:3 search thumbnails to lop off the top and bottom edges.
• Uploading photos under 1000px wide, resulting in blurry, pixelated zoom that discourages shoppers.
• Placing vital text overlays or products right against the canvas edge where thumbnails get clipped.
• Uploading raw 40MB TIFF or oversized camera files that fail Etsy 20MB file upload limit.
• Using dull, low-contrast photos that get lost in dark mode search results.
